3 Tips to Enhance $5 Friday

$5 Friday is a great way to reward your loyal customers and get a few extra visits a year from customers that are not quite as loyal as you’d like them to be.  When creating a local marketing strategy, it’s important to build a cohesive plan to capture customer’s contact information and efficiently communicate added value.  When customers visit your store, they are spending money with you because you have something they are craving.  What are you doing to reignite that craving after they leave?

One of the best ways to grow your business and your $5 Friday’s is by getting permission to alert your customers of specials via SMS, MMS, e-mail, and through social media channels.  You may say, “But I’m busy running my business and my employees are busy making smoothies,  how on earth can I get them to continually try and sign customers up for these programs?”  The answer is you don’t!

Here are 3 tips to help enhance your $5 Friday promotion, or any local promotion, for that matter.

  1. Put a self serve sign-up kiosk at your point of sale to capture your customer’s information and gain permission to communicate.  (Include Picture of kiosk at POS)
  2. Send an enticing picture of a smoothie via MMS to your customer’s cell phones to activate their visual senses.  MMS has a 98% open rate with 90% in the first 90 seconds.  With these types of open rates, you’re sure to drive traffic to your store. (Include picture of phone with example text)
  3. Do a “First 10 in get a FREE Smoothie.”  Who doesn’t love a good competition?  And everyone loves FREE .  You can include in your MMS or SMS a secret code that the first 10 people have to tell the cashier to get a FREE Smoothie.
